CA from Walmart
Thought you all should know, that the no name super glue at walmart is not to bad . And under a dollar for a 4 tube packet. Warning , it is thin CA!

I've been buying mine from Hobby Lobby (the craft store) The 5 and 30 minute epoxy isn't to bad either. I wish they had some finishing epoxy! No real "local" hobby shop near by.

I like the 4 tubes for a dollar packs from Wal-mart for my flight box. They are great for doing quick repairs at the field. The CA is inexpensive and the small tubes are great because one tube is great for a repair, and then you can toss it in the trash when your done, so you won't have to worry about the tube leaking in your flight box or drying up.<div>

I've seen small packages of gel/thick type Crazy Glue brand at Dollar Tree. LAst time I was in there, they were selling the 8oz bottles of Elmers Carpenter glue for a buck too. Home Depot wants almost 4 bucks for the same 8oz bottle.

WARNING!
That ''Thin'' CA is NOT thin.
It will work just fine for most applications but DO NOT use it for CA Hinges!

ROGER THAT! It's medium and doesn't wick into joints. I too keep 3-4 small tubes in my parts box. Not for me, but for those who do a lot of repairs.

I bought HK's thin and mediumI got it shipped to my house for less then I can buy one bottle of any other brand. Cool!
It doesn't grab hold or setup like other brands. I have used mostly Jet & super Jet (and other name brands)for the past 30 years. I used up the thin and ordered some more of both. It worked alrightI build 4 or 5 planes with it.
I had to do some work on the house and didn't build on anything for 5-6 weeks. When I started gluing again. I find that it takes forever to grap hold or setup. and I have hada fewglue joints let go. Not the wood, just the glue break, and I have reglued them a couple of times, and they still break the glue joint (on good tight fitting parts). And I can not glue something and pick it up for a few minutes or it will fall apart!
I have had other brands sit for months after opening without using, and have never had this happen before! Iput the same type needle tips on my glue bottles, that I have always used, that have a small pin hole.
Now I have to decide if the rest of the glue joints are going to hold, or do I redo them all.

RE: CA from Walmart
Not having a LHS, I usually buy the loctite professional super glue at walmart. This stuff IS medium CA. Back when there was a "LHS" two hours away I would buy The Bob Smith CA's. 2 1/2 planes later, the loctite is holding very well.

I use the Wal-mart 4 Pak for thin CA under most thin applications. I also use the Gorilla Glue CA for applications that can handle a really thick CA. Super Gold + for normal thick CA applications.

I dont know how you guys manage with 1 and 2 ounce bottles? I can sometimes use that much in one sitting. I buy all my CA glue in 16oz bottles at a time. Otherwise I would be buying quite a bit of those little bottles.

Gawd I hate to have to say this BUT "Horse Pucky"!
I just don't believe that anyone, even you could use 16 oz of CA before it would go bad. Not even if yer using it to bond you moneycoat down!

Ever since I discovered I could buy it in 16 oz bottles, about almost two years ago, I have since bought a total of three 16 oz bottles. So far I have been able to go through all of them just fine without them going bad. I do keep it in the fridge though. The first two bottles I tried were from a company on eBay and their glue is fantastic. They charge about $36 a bottle. I then found another company that sells 16 oz bottles for $28 shipped. That same company also sells CA by the gallon as well for those serious builders out there.

I just "discovered" the 40% off coupon. Go to their website and you print them off. "One coupon per customer per day" . Can't beat it with a stick..... Well I supposed you could but you'd probably get in trouble
