Default Controlling AUX1 channel w/switch DX8

I'm putting a Zenoah G-38 in my Midwest AT-6 and want to use AUX 1 (only channel left) on a switch to control my choke. This is on a DX8 with an AR7000 receiver. I can't figure out how to assign a 3 position switch (preferrably AUX 2) to the AUX 1 channel on the receiver.

Any help appreciated

Since Aux1 is usually the Flap channel, you will probably want to Inhibit Flap System to use Aux1 for the Choke.

You might also want to look at the Switch Select menu. This allows you to assign a switch to a specific channel.

I know about assigning switches, I just couldn't get Aux 2, 3 position switch to show up. I assume I have to do a mix Aux1 to Aux1 but Aux2 wasn't in the switch assignment list...I'll try again with the flap system inhibited and post the results. Thanks Richbigbird

It turns out that the flap system was inhibited. I got it to work on the mix switch with settings of:

Mix 1
Aux1 &gt; Aux1
Rate -87
+122

Offset -100
Trim Inh
SW: mix1

Seems to work but I would like it on Aux2 Gov switch so I could have a three position switch for Off - half choke - full choke.

Any ideas?

Thanks for any help

I was looking at my DX8, but I was not sure if I could assign the Aux2 switch to Aux1.

On the Switches screen, you can only assign 1 source to a channel, so you would need to de-assign another device from Aux1 before you could put another there. Depending on your wing type, that might not work because it would already be owned by, say, the left aileron or by the flaps.

I was looking at my DX8, but I was not sure if I could assign the Aux2 switch to Aux1.
I revisited the Switch Select screen and noted that I had set the Aux2 switch to operate the Aux1 channel. I checked the Monitor screen and Aux1 moved in concert with the Aux2 switch.

Thanks Andy,

I'll look but I don't believe that anything else is assigned. I have no flaps and a Y on the ailerons. I do have dual elevators but the other channel is in Aux 2.

Perhaps I need to rearrange and use Aux2 for the choke and Aux1 for the other half of the elevator?

Thanks,

You enter the System Menu by holding down the Roller and turning on the Tx. Scroll down to Switch Select. Scroll to Aux2 and change the value for the channel to Aux1. Scroll back to Main Screen and now you are in the Function Menu. Scroll to Monitor. As you move the Aux2 switch, the value for Aux1 will change.

Thanks Rich, that was what I needed. Now if can figure out how to adjust the center position on the switch I'll be in business.

I guess I never needed to change the switch selection in the system menu before, I didn't realize it was there. I'd always been able to change it to what I needed in the function menu.

Thanks a million!

bigbird

Update: Well there was a simple solution, I called Horizon and was told to go into the function menu/servo setup/subtrim for aux1 and adjust as needed. It works!<br type="_moz" />
