Default MVVS 1.6 gas, any experience?

Has anyone used one of these, or heard any reports on it? I'm looking for a lightweight gasser for a 10 pound plane. These come in around 2 pounds w/o ignition battery.
Thanks for the input!

I have no experience with the MVVS but you can hardly go wrong with the RCS140 on a 10# (or less) plane. I am very pleased with the operation of mine. Comes in rear or side exhaust.

Go here to see it:

Default mvvs gasser

Here is a real good link to one of the guys on these boards that has set one up in a h9 cap. Sounds like a real nice motor. I am waiting for a dealer in Germany to get his in stock to order one. The motor has gone through some improvements since John's motor in the following link.

Default My MVVS

Mine came from Topmodel in France. My choice....ordered on a Friday, shipped following Weds. Still in transit...total USD cost, incl. shipping $281.02 That is, of course, engine, ignition, carb, and that horrible tincan choke/muffler. MVVS Header/Pipe came from Pe Reivers, was $54, plus $10 shipping - from The Netherlands.

I've bought two of these from Just Engines in the UK. I paid just over $290 each, including shipping.

I'm still waiting on my mufflers from Bisson, so I haven't run them yet. They look good, though.

Default MVVS 1.6 gas, any experience?

Anyone have prop/rpm numbers for the MVVS 1.6 on various mufflers? I understand the stock muffler is very restrictive on power. I assume the engine is stronger than the RCS/Moki 1.4 in either side or rear exhaust configuration....true? Is the ignition auto advance or fixed timing? Has the ignition proved reliable over time..or do they go ftttzzz?

Default MVVS 1.60

Hi guys, I have not only the 1.60 but also the 2.15 gassers from MVVS. They put out good power and run like a clock. I have the 1.60 installed in a GP 1/4 scale Giles 202 weighing @ 11 3/4 lbs, pulls strong although it is not fully broke in as of yet. I can turn a APC 16X6 9100 RPM's on a BCM muffler. I have it from a very reliable source that SlimLine is working on a muffler as well. Has great throttle transition and pulls very strong on the lower RPMS as well. Best of all only pennies a flight.
The 2.15 is installed in a MidWest Super Stinker Pitts weighing in @ 14lbs, I only have 2 short flights this bird so I have not rung her out as of yet to see what kind of power she has. But I can say it I feel very good about the power capabilities for this one as well. Feel free to drop me a line if ya have any questions. [email protected]

Default MVVS 1.6 gas, any experience?

I have been waiting for Tino in Germany to receive his shippment of the 1.6 gas so I can purchase from him. I believe he is selling the 1.6 for about 250$ shipped, That is if mvvs hasnt raised there prices with the upgrades that they have made to this motor. Tino has responded to each email I have sent the very next day and has written that he has sent quite a few motors to the usa. I have a copy of the email that he sent to me which has his email address and web site on it along with a special that he was having on the 2.15 gas. If anyone is interested just drop me an email at [email protected] and I will forward you a copy.
Jeff
