Could you possible give some detail on what you used? im trying to find a place to buy similar stuff for small worm drives.

I nned to get to my other computer to send you more details. Not worm drives, I use retract servos and tooth belts.

You don't need to use a worm gear too difficult to get the clearance right and accurate drilling needed
Simple way is to use a threaded rod screwing through the brass slider that is normally connected to the piston rod
Been looking at motor/gearboxes myself plenty on eBay just need to establish what rpm suits best
