Default DLE30 vs DLE35RA vs PTE36 vs OS33

Ok guys these new DLE35 and PTE36 have been out for some time now, but there dose not seem like a lot of prop data on them so one can actually comparison all of them.

I currently have 3 DLE 30s but I'm looking for a new motor that has more power than a DLE30 with out going all the way to the 55

Hello,

MVVS/EVOLUTION 40cc same dimensions with MVVS 35cc more power and good price. And ROTO 35cc, more better choice, reliable and powerfull. This choise, ar maybe more expensive like chinese engines but more better quality.

All the best

I can tell you the 0S 33 turns a 18x12 two bladed prop @7800 rpm. It has unlimited vertical with an 11lb aeroplane at half throttle. I have no experience with the others you mention.

Cheers, john

I have done some comparative running of several 30cc class engines and have witnessed running of a couple others....

Here are some engines I've experimented with:
SAP180HP
ZDZ40F3A
Mintor 38cc
PTE36R
OS33GT

I've witnessed the DLE30 and wasn't that impressed. But I also didn't know the operator's level of experience in tuning these small gassies.

I've purchased the DLE35RA; should be here next week and I'll get more data for my specific application

The OS33GT is the best of the lot I've looked at in terms of ability to haul large props at useful rpm. If one wants huge rpm, forget it, the OS is not set-up to give you 10K rpm. BUT, Ifone wants stump pulling power at 6900-7500 hauling 20-21" props with 8-10 inches of pitch, that's the ticket. Heck, I half broke the engine in on an 18x12 and continued the break in for a couple gallons with a 19x11 apc. Then played with the 18x10 3 blade Mezjlik for another couple gallons before realizing it just wasn't enough load. The current prop is an apc, 20 x 10.5PN. It's a great combination.

But the answer to your question is loaded.... What matters is your specific application and your intented use. If you want a racing engine, put a smaller diameter and larger pitch on the SAP and let it rev. I was getting 9K rpm on a 16x12 apc.

Hi John,

I know about Os 33GT but it's in another league, more better and more expensive in EU like UK.
MVVS and ROTO it's very easy to find in UK: http://www.iadmodeldesigns.co.uk/roto.asp and http://www.puffinmodels.com/category.php?dept=192 .
And maybe DLE35 will be a good choice, more cheaper like MVVS and ROTO.

Regards

Thanks for the info.

I would like to know how many more RPMs one will get with a Dle30 vs DLE35 with the same prop

I had a PTE36 but only on the stand, and after a 1/2gal had all kinds of issues, returned it and got 1/4 credit gor a DLE55RA

So basically something a little stronger than a DLE30 is what I want<br type="_moz" />

DLE35RA will work better in a lot of installations because of the rear carb/rear exhaust. Something to consider.

I've got just about 1 gallon through the PTE36R so far. Engine displays some strange behavior in that it won't take the throttle when I go inverted with the plane (which means the engine is upright; it's an inverted installation) or go into knife edge. Only time it works normally is when the plane is upright. meaning the engine is inverted. Weird!!

I received the DLE35RA...nice looking powerplant. I won't have it running until next Spring most likely. It will go into the same plane that now has the PTE36R. The exhausts appear the same footprint

That is strange. I've heard of a couple of Mintor 38 with similar traits but it cleared itself up in those instances.

You may be running afoul of the problem of air pressure changes with the regulator on the carburetor. I suggest installing a fitting on the air vent of the regulator cover and routing a tube to a more quiet area outside of the cowl area.
