My RC10GT with a 2.5
I bought this blue chassis RC10GT about a month ago and it has been an extremely busy month for me since I just got moved into my new house 2 weeks ago, but I have been working on this truck some and really like it. The engine is a traxxas 2.5. Just had to mod the engine mount slightly for it to fit and I am using the traxxas clutch. I bought the engine new a while back for $65 with the ez start and wand. I broke it in in a revo and it probably has less than 1/2 gallon on it still and runs awesome. Moves this RC10GT right along Id say it runs over 60 without too much trouble and still has enough bottom end to spin the tires pretty hard. I know a lot of people dont like traxxas engines, but I have had no issues with them and they always have run great for me. I love the way the head and pipe match the chassis of the truck too. I bought the truck off ebay and really didnt have to do much to it. Needed a new fuel tank, got new wheels and tires for Christmas, and put the engine/pipe on it and cleaned it up a little. The worst thing about it is the body, but it will last a long while since this truck doesent flip too easily. Sure is fun to drive. My father in law just got an HPI Firestorm 3.0 that I rebuild the engine on. Its just past break in and I have it tuned nice. It runs good, but he was quite surprised today when we were running and we nailed them running along at about 15mph with me behind him, and I got over to the left and passed him like he was on the brakes
Anyways, here are the pictures. Its one of the nicer looking trucks I have had and i really like driving it. Cant see it going anywhere for a long time[8D]

RE: My RC10GT with a 2.5
Thanks guys! Its not quite as fast as my 3.3 jato was, but I like the chassis layout a lot better and it is still more than fast enough.
Some of the 2.5's had the metal colored head. All the 2.5r engines had the blue head (which is what mine is). The 2.5r is the same engine with just slightly more agressive porting of the sleeve from what I have heard. Not really much difference, but all the 2.5 engines now are the R version with the blue head as far as i know. The 3.3 looks almost identical to the 2.5 though.
I just always thought these RC10GT's were nice looking trucks. I have to say, I really do like the truck. I like associated pretty well and this truck is no exception. [8D]
