dle 55 throttle arm
I am trying to mount the fiberglass arm to the small metal arm on the carb....
The engine had a spacer on the screw holding the metal arm to the rotating brass shaft.
I took that out but now the screw wont thread into the shaft to tighten up the fiberglass ar m.
Anyone else have this issue????
Any ideas?????
Thanks
Bill

Hi Bill,
I'm not sure what your issue is, perhaps try a longer screw, was there another screw in the bag with the fibreglass extension?
I just had a look in my spares box and there is a fibreglass arm and a screw in a bag, you may find that one in the bag is longer and meant to be used on the shaft..
I never bother with the supplied one, this is a much better option http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...s_Engines.html
It will get the throttle and choke lines in a different path so they don't interfere with each other.
You should find local suppliers who will have them also.

RE: dle 55 throttle arm
Thanks guys
I know this should work but its not....
I have the throttle arm going the other way than the choke arm so they are clear.
But the screw only goes in about two threads....
Anyone know what size this bolt is????
Just to clarify i am bolting the fiberglass arm onto the small metal arm
The outside hole is easy but i cant get it to go into the brass shaft.
It looks to be drilled and tapped for more than two threads.....
Its right where the metal arm keys over the end of the brass. The hole has two at spots in it.
Thanks for the help

RE: dle 55 throttle arm
I used the fiberglass arm over the metal on one of my set ups, it did require me to use a longer bolt to grip the threads......the stock bolt was not long enough. The overlay method needed a second bolt and nut up where the servo rod would usually attach.........
Forgot to add the original bolt with my DLE carb had slight taper on the first few threads......I believe this helps in centering the bolt easy and fast and keeps down cross threading(at the factory).......The longer 4/40 cap bolt has no taper to the bolt so be carefull not to cross thread.....ease her in slowly.
