RE: Proposed car forum restructuring. 1/8 Buggies and Truggies
Thanks for the ideas ph, but I'm afraid this is not a brainstorming session, the change is specific in what it aims to achieve on this occasion, has been proposed, put to the vote and will be implemented (sooner or later). The next subject will be the merge of the MT forums, but I won't even call for a vote on that until this one is implemented
As for some of the comments, I have no problems at all moderating the morons that think brand X is superior to brand Y and are prepared to get personal about it, or that are so short sighted as to think that one power source is better than another. In fact, moderating these kinds of people is one of the few joys I have in this job.

I think the old template we have today was useful YEARS ago when there was a huge difference between nitro and electric, now the power sources are so similarly matched, they usually share chassis plates, diffs and so on.
but about THIS topic, buggy/truggy why not? but i think there should be BL and nitro for reasons I stated earlier.

I really don't see a problem with it. I like more than one RC platform and I like electric, nitro, and gas.

Completely with you dude, unfortunately, I think the management has bigger fish to fry right now. It'll happen sooner or later.

I have nothing against nitro, I have had a couple myself. But the neighbors, tree huggers and whoever else pitches a fit if you use public land, ie. the school football field, baseball diamond, local park etc. At least the brushless lets you get in a few runs before they even know your there...

Dear all,
I have a simple proposition to put to you.
It has been suggested that the needs of the members and the fora concerned would be better served by merging the 1/8th Buggy Forum with the 1/8th Truggy forum, and naming the new forum ''1/8th Electric and Nitro Buggies, Truggies and more...'' in line with the current forum naming convention. This is due to the fact that both of these forums are somewhat quiet lately, and that the cars themselves share the vast majority of their architecture and drivers/enthusiasts. We hope this will encourage an increased volume of discussion as well as forming a central repository for these essentially similar racing classes.
Please indicate your feelings on this matter by voting in the poll!
Thanks, your feedback is important to us.
Regards,
Foxy.

As someone who has been in prison I can tell you it doesn't have to happen, and as far as my balls dropping, they are pretty comfortable in your mouth.

I like the idea of having 1/8 Offroad Nitro and 1/8 Offroad Electric.

I say go ahead and merge them into one forum. There isn't alot of traffic for either nitro or electric so putting them both together shouldn't be a problem especially since they do share such a large number of components, and setups for both power systems would be very similar. When will this merge happen?

RE: Proposed car forum restructuring. 1/8 Buggies and Truggies
Okay, Okay...After having a couple months to mull this over...I think maybe the merging of the BL and Nitro would not be so bad after all. If you frequent an outdoor track like I do it becomes pretty evident that even though the brushless can easily keep up with the nitro buggy/truggies they are a real kick in the pants. No the power delivery for the nitrois not as immediate for last second triples, but the sound and smells are just intoxicating. Yes I broke down and got one and they are just the next logical step for me. I never thought I would say this...but yes...I am a convert...I still keep my brushless in the trunk till I break the nitro. Now if you want to talk about track running versus bashing, that is where you might get some differences. Bashing is fine and all but really gets boring once you see how much more of a challenge consistently running laps at a track can be. Tracks can be a humbling experience, but really let you know how good a driver you are, if you know how to set up, correct tire selection, etc. Well thats my rant

I would like to see a restructuring which entails a separate nitro section for 1/8th scale offroad, in which foxy has zero participation as a mod. I say this because he very obviously has an anti-nitro agenda, and continues to foist it on people. This is RCuniverse, not Brushlessuniverse.
