Default Carb setup probs

I have just bought a GV Rex X and have just completed the break in period on the engine but now i am having problems getting the mixture correct it seems to be running so rich that fuel is spraying out of the exhaust. and the engine is stalling as soon as i remove the glow clip. Now i know that the thing to go is to adjust the mixture so it is running a lot leaner but now the car wont seem to start at all so that the mixture can be adjusted and tested.[sm=spinnyeyes.gif]

Any ideas?

Thanks

You've probably fouled the glow plug - I'd replace it and see what happens.

Even if it isn't the glow plug stopping it from starting, then it's always handy to have a few spares

I just got my mtx-2 yesterday and the thing doesn't have enough back pressure to pressurize the tank. the only thing that i can see wrong with it is that on the pipe(a rex) the tips where the exaust comes out is busted off. i did get it running but it wouldn't stay running unless i was blowing on the pressure line. another thing is when i had it running(for the 10 sec. it was) when i pulled the throttle it died instantly. i can't figure it out any help would be welcome.

I had the same problem with my CEN TR4.

I stripped the exhaust manifold off the engine and cleaned off all the joints. I put everything back together, and then stuck an extra tie-wrap on all the rubber joints (2 in all).

That sorted it for me - worth a try
