Yes this is a good car for entry level racing. Will serve you fine until you learn the rules of setup and such.
Once you get to that point the drawbacks of the the beginner car will start to come into view. When that happens its time to grab a pro car.

The R40 is nice, but don't forget to take a good look at the Serpent 705, the Mugen MTX, The team magic g4, Kyosho V-one-RR evolution... I'm in the market for a new car next year and I find the choice very hard.....

I'm not sure if this is entirely true or not.. but I was playing DAoC one of my favorite games. My last name was TeamLosiXXX-NT and a guy started talking to me and he said he was matt francises younger brother. He also said team losi is building a onroad nitro r/c but its still in the cad stages. Just thought i would let you guys know.... He seemed to be very knowledgeable. So maybe he is maybe hes not im not goin to judge.
