RE: JMA LONG MARSTON JULY 13/14
Great day despite the multiple attempts of the unamed turbine manufacturer testing our patience over a sustained period in near enough 94 deg.
My patience nearly cracked as I had spied a skip at the entrance to the airfield and felt it might be useful at one point.
However with an enormous thanks to D/W for his unending help and experience and well, what can you say when the "Big Fella" pulls out an engine and says "Try this one and see if it flies".
Yes it did fly, and the skip was not filled, and J.P did not have to suffer another gliding lesson ( Thank God it does glide too !).
All of this was very emotional at the end and felt like an episode of "Ice cold Alex" when we finally arrived at the bar.
Pretty much a great day in the end and the shower was good too !
Thanks to all concerned

What a great weekend, Jason that was a great alarm call, managed to get up and fly myself before breakfast, never done that before. Big thanks to all that made the event possible, and Dave for the technical steer on starting turbine with less gas on a hot day.

Have another group of pictures to post (inc those by my latest apprentice snapper) but after a day filming helicopter DVD's I forgot to bring my camera home. Now RCU has been healed I'll try and post tomorrow.
Was certainly a weekend of trying times on turbines, guess like me they hate the hot weather!

Utter Rubbish!
I would never spill a drop!
What a weekend!
Thanks to everyone involved, Roger K you were missed (good result for CC at the weekend don't you think)!
I'm just sorry I can't make the September meeting, hope it's a great one for all those going!
Engine problems I did see, on the up side was the amount of help at hand and the generosity in these situations to ensure the individuals in each case were able to succeed in enjoying what they attended for! (That was a mouthful)
Great to see you all as ever, here's to the next one!

Yes Dave it was !!!!I am always a bit jumpy test flying a new jet, just want to get it airborne trim the model check response and get down in one piece.Well the Carf Skygate Viper Jet 2 is a delight to fly no trim needed at all and landing so easy and predictable. It seems like all my settings were just about right.I will post my set up on the Carf/Skygate thread later. Thanks again Dave for your help in setting up my JC 180RX.Enjoyed the day even with the heat, very relaxed low key jet meet and looking forward to the September date.Phil.

Shots of Sunday
Most chilled out jet weekend ever...all those who didn't go because of some strange notion of a busy sky...nope. You could fly as much or as little as you liked
