Default Ultra Precision UP2- UP3 Retract Valve Grease

After several hundred retract actuation's, I find myself in need of cleaning my UP-2 and UP-3 valves from Ultra Precision and re greasing them.

Does anyone know what kind of grease is used in these?

I tried to use Air tool oil but They just don't seem to have that smooth moving action that they had with the original grease.

Thanks

[h=1]BVM has "Thin-O-Lube (for air cylinders)" air tool oil was probably not a good idea. I recently used some of the BVM product and it is good stuff. [/h]

Please please never use BV 'O' lube with UP valves. There is an article here somewhere on RCU which Philip from UP added some comments. It causes a swelling of the o ring ( which is what it was designed for ) and also causes a reaction with the Dow Corning. This all leads to a jelly which blocks all the air ways. You then end up needing to clean all your lines, cylinders etc. the only grease to use with UP vales is Dow Corning 55. Don't ask me how I know.

Joe,
espirit is correct, use Dow Corning 55.
the instructions direct you to do so: http://www.up-1.com/instructtwo.html
UP also sell the lubricant: http://www.up-1.com/dow.html
you can also easily get a small tube via eBay.

Dreamworks also carries Dow-corning 55. This is the ONLY lube for UP valves

Thanks for all the reply's. I did find a Silicon based plumbers grease that you would use on the o rings of a water faucet. I cleaned the valves out and lubricated them with this and they work even smoother then original.
