Default Newly Acquired Hangar 9 B-25

I think I was lucky to find what seems to be the only existing new-in-the-box Hangar 9 B-25 recently. As a friend and I were inspecting the contents of the box, I opened the box that contained one of the engine nacelles and commented that man that nacelle sure is heavy. When we unwrapped the nacelle we were dumbfounded to discover that it has a brand new Evolution .36 engine already mounted with the appropriate cutouts in the cowl.

I was unaware that this ARF ever came already equipped with preinstalled engines. Have there been others of this kit/arf that included the engines?

I won't be using these engines or cowls (since they have the engine cutouts) because this B-25 is to be electric powered. I really was sort of disappointed that now I have to order two new, uncut cowls for it.

I ran saito .56's in mine. Also had a few issues with it. The retract mounts were not securely glued in place. I also had issues with the flaps not lining up. I never used them.

After much research, I found that when this B-25 was first released, they released a few of them like mine that had engines already installed.

That is correct Steve. The first 200 planes came with the engines installed. They are Evolutions as you have already discovered. It was quite a surprise to many of us that got those planes. I replaced the .36's with OS .46's. I know you will find this plane fun to fly. I also put Century Jet retracts in mine and flew it for 6 years and then sold it. I understand that it is still flying fine.

Just about finished with this B-25 but I have a question that may sound silly. I will be using counter-rotating props. Does it matter which side these props are installed on?

Do you mean which side of the plane or which side of the prop?

The B-25 did not have counter rotating props not that it matters.

Does it matter which motor is reversed?

I would reverse the copilot side engine.
