I've got an old G 62 with Mag ignition and cannot get it to run more than 5500 RPM's after that it starts running bad (real bad) anyone a specialist with a G 62 ??? If so can you get back to me at ([email protected])

Assuming you have a correct size prop and not overloading the engine.
First thing to check is the carb. Open up the pump cover plate (the one with one screw) and carefully remove the pump diaphragm and look for dirt in the round screen that is in the carb body. If it's dirty clean it out and then remove the metering plate (the one with 4 screws) and carefully remove the metering diaphragm . You can now clean all of the passages between both sides of the carb body. You can also remove the high and low speed needle screws and clean those passages as well(before you remove them just gently screw each all the way in(closed) counting the turns so you can set them when you re-install ) Now is also a good time to replace at least the pump and metering diaphragms
After the carb is re-assembled I would change the spark plug.
Next check the fuel tank and make sure all lines in and out are not hard...if so change them. Also check the stopper and change that if needed.
After that get it started and see if the problem is solved. If not then I would check the spark plug wire and the coil and look for cracks,
