Red Flag - New FTE Event October 29-31
Earlier this spring Frank Tiano announced a new Jet Aerobatic event for this fall, called Red Flag. It is an invitational event focused on the jet pilot.
I haven't seen much on the web about it, so I figured i'd see who else is planning on attending, and post some information about it here.
So, as it is laid out there are three main classes:
1. Aerobat: which is split into two classes- Scale jets and Sport Jets
- There are 22 maneuvers that we will have to pick 10 from to fly in a center box sequence. So, basically, you have an upwind center box maneuver close to the runway, then you can turn around any way you want, then do a down wind farther out, with a center box maneuver.
-There are requirements for each type of maneuvers as well
2. Team: This is meant to be 2-5 jets, either in formation or passes or both...
3. Freestyle: 4-10 minutes total time, timed to music... basically like a freestyle program for aerobatic planes.
The whole event is meant to be in an Airshow format, so judging will be based on several criteria - precision, execution- entertainment....
I'll be there in the Aerobat and probably the Freestyle, flying my 2.5m Futura

I tried to post the information about it, but can't on RCU.
