hmm agree on that combo being a ripoff
now if it had the proper true 540 motor(the can's without the fins which are #.5's) not a 380's internals in a larger can(the finned can) then that was a decent price as they are $106 normally(with the proper motor).
I've got quite a few of the 60's and can't say they have ever let me down, and I bought them for around $80 a few years back.
Side note why post this in a 2 year old thread?

$88.99 for the Hobbywing EZRun 60A ESC/ 9T Motor Combo w/Program Box... is not a bad price. That same combo three or four years ago was $75 (or more), but with only a 35A ESC; it was, and still is, powering lots of 1/10 scale stadium trucks/buggies.

I live in Canada, so most websites cost up to $60 to ship to me! Amazon.ca has even more expensive stuff, including a $500+ stock boost. I may be able to ship Amazon.com to border tho.

as for cheap brushless, you're best bet is probably hobbyking.com. ~$70 for a waterproof system and they ship internationally.

As for hobbyking did they ever improve their ESC's? I remember reading piles of issues with them when this site was way more popular. I do own one or two of their motors, and find them ok as the motor I wanted was out of stock for like 7 months straight on Hobbypartz's site(I sometimes wonder how they are in business as almost nothing is ever in stock) before I buckled. I never tried the ESC's as I have all the different programmers for HW ESC's, and the price difference back when I would actively buy parts wasn't anything big.

it's easy to see how hobbypartz stays in business. they probably get minimum deliveries of 5-10,000 units and a quarter of that is back ordered within a week of selling out! then there is no need to even have the warehouse staffed when all the major items are sold out. when it is staffed they probably pay them piece rate which allows them to under-staff. speaking from experience. i have worked in a packaging plant/distribution center for a fundraiser company
