Question Bennett muffler repair

I had a rough landing and bent back the first (front) down tube on my Bennett built muffler on my G62. The tube is now loose.. Can I fix that? Braze? Solder? Weldbond? Duct tape (Lol)

If needed, I can post pics (when I get home)

Thanks in advance!

You should be able to buy replacement pipes where you bought the muffler. That is what I do.

+1, the best thing about the Bennett muffler is the replaceable pipes. Remove the old broken stub and thread in a new pipe.

I thought they were welded in place. Are you telling me that the muffler that I have for a dle55ra that has loose pipes and has been thrown in the junk drawer has tubes that simply unscrew and can be replaced?

Not all mufflers have threaded pipes. If yours doesn't you can take it to the local weld shop and have it repaired.

I can't speak for all the mufflers they make but the ones I have used had threaded pipes.

The Bennets I have had screwed in. The DLE's I have are not the screw in type.........get it mig welded in a shop. Most of those guys are used to fabrication so fixing it will not be a problem and less expensive than a new one.
