Any advice with my new Skymaster F-104 build?
Hi guys,
I will shortly be starting a Skymaster F-104 built. The basic install will include the following:
- Fully ducted KingTech 210 and hopefully the new KingTech telemetry module, being fed via a GBR Cat.
- My trusty Futaba 18MZ communicating with a pair of 7003SB's instructing a bunch of JR8911's via a Powerbox SRS Royal with GPS.
- D4S afterburner ring, drag chute and light kit.
- Various electronic air valves and relative sequencers.
I have been keeping a keen eye on the various threads here on RCU regarding the SM F-104 and no doubt there has been some valuable tip shared. However, reading between the lines and listening to some talk it might be the right time for those of you who have now had a lot of experience to comment on what you would have done different, have you had to build it again.
Were can I expect the batteries to go? Should I install and use the leading edge slats (my kit has the slat-to-fuselge pin modification already done. How about smoke, good idea?
Thank you for your advice.
