Default P70 Glowing Tailpipe

Have a P70 that I noticed on the last startup that the tailpipe is glowing red when revved to around 52,000. The glow goes all the way to the bolts holding the tail cone on the engine. If looking at the tail cone the glow is from 6 to 7:30 o'clock only. Also it goes away at idle and also when revved higher. The turbine was serviced about 2 years ago with bearings, shaft, outer can, and P80 tail cone. Since then I have maybe 1.5 hrs on the turbine. DO I need to be concerned? Just never noticed it glowing before.

voodoodb,

My wild guess would be that you have run your turbine at dawn or close to sunset to see it glowing. please confirm that this was not seen on a sunny day!!
On the other hand if this was your last run, you should still be able to check the info on your GSU to check the highest temperature registered

Hope this helps
Regards,

According to service man at DreamWorks, it was a typical P70. No problems, just early design.
