And the saga continues. Doubt the FAA will just say OK

I fear the backlash from the FAA will be much worse in the near future.

Well, at least there is precedent now.

We are drowning ourselves in rules and regulations. Ugh....

Actually this ruling says that the FAA's hands are tied by section 336, so at this point, they can't take any "retaliatory" action.

The problem may come when those in Congress who wanted to make a name for themselves by "reigning in those bad drone guys" repeal section 336 in the next FAA reauthorization bill.

Yep, Congress can easily dispense with 336. Once again, contact your congressional reps and again as soon as the new bill begins to circulate.
Even the Taylor court said in its opinion:“Congress is of course always free to repeal or amend its 2012 prohibition on FAA rules regarding model aircraft. Perhaps Congress should do so. Perhaps not. In any event, we must follow the statute as written.” Pg 8. Taylor vs FAA Opinion. Which is simply a statement of fact.
And Taylor can expect a request for appeal to the Supreme Court.
The price of freedom is a constant vigilance.
