More down than up is correct. His movement on the ailerons would also be high!

Dave,
What would be your suggestion for Ailerons? The manual has the 20mm up and 22mm down which must also be high. Thanks for your time and any answers.

All comes down to what you like as a response, I like sensitive models as I down rate with my finger movement, but I would go with 16mm up and 18mm down with 35% expo as a starting point max movement. All the Flash models have powerful ailerons

I am just restoring an old classic flash and also was wondering about the AOA on the ground. As I am planning to take off on grass fields, is there anybody with a slightly positive AOA on ground, who could help me out with the length of the oleos of nose gear and, to avoid any mistake, also the main legs.
Another approach would be, if somebody whose Flash is leaving the runway in a shorter distance than 300ft, could tell me the difference between Leading and trailing edge to the ground.
I am just aiming for a nose high attitude which is not too much and is kind of proven.

Thank you very much in advance.

The instruction manual Classic Flash still flies from 300’ grass no problem with 15mm flap. Std Behotec nose leg is 141mm but on a C-36/2 unit with long retract yoke. If the flat bottom nose of the fuselage forward of the wing LE is level that is fine.

Thank you Dave, I did just measure the AOA by comparing LE and TE to the ground which is close to zero. I’ll now check the flat bottom to be level. Great advice! I am just fearing the nose to be deeper at T/O run as the trailing link will shorten the leg. I’ll just give it a try.

The Behotec leg is firm enough it does not compress once the aircraft is rolling. I built a CF for a club friend and he used an old P-80 so I added 5mm packers under the retract mounts, even on calm data it took off ‘just’ in 300’
