Hello- New to RC Tank World
Hello all you RC tankers. My name is Tom and I am new to the world of RC tanks or RC anything for that matter. I've been lurking here for a while sucking up as much info as I can. This place is truly a wealth of knowledge and full of valuable information which really helps out a fellow like me who currently know little about this hobby.
My first RC tank is actually a tank destroyer, the Jagdpanther from Taigen. I am still getting used to the controls to operate it in a somewhat realistic way and I'm getting there. I am learning what you can drive through and what you can't. I operate in my back yard which is mowed grass and then stony hills, depressions, woods, mossy areas, tall grass and weeds, and worst of all, poison ivy vines. Poison ivy vines stop the Jag in an instant. I try to stay away from them but they're almost everywhere. I've been ripping out as many as I can but there are so many that I can't get them all.
The Jag has performed well and has been fun to play with, so much so that I bought a scratch and dent Tiger 1 from Taigen. The Tiger has had some issues but Erik at Taigen has been supportive in every way and got me straightened out. I couldn't be more please with Taigen's customer service and their general positive attitude towards their customers. (No, I don't work there or have any skin in their game) The Tiger isn't up and running yet so I can't give my opinion.
I am sure you will be hearing from me in the future, probably with a lot of dumb questions. For now I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself and say hello to all you fellow tankers.
Happy Tanking!
