It was windy and it was his first flight as new owner of the model, so I'd cut him some slack. I didn't video the second flight but it was distinctly better than the first and flown with a lot more confidence.
What is a good cg for this monster? I test flew one last weekend and it was horribly nose heavy when set to the factory specs.
No monster this one... probably one of my «easiest to land»- jets Away at work now, but will check my CG when I get home. I think I am at factory settings minus a tiny bit..
165mm measured from the front og the main wing tube. I think AW recommends 170mm, but I am not sure. But main thing to be aware of, is that the elevators need to be some 8mm down in front where they meet the fuselage, in order to be neutral! In other words, when looking at the model/elevators before takeoff, it looks like you are already holding some up elevator. If they are flush with the fuselage, you need to pull back on the stick, or trim quite a bit. This may lead the pilot to believe the model is nose heavy.
