San Diego battleday
Well, DAK, 619 Battalion and LA Tanks did manage to meed and give battle in San Diego at the South Shores park. Lots of armor on the field and a great mix of all eras. DAK photo report is here...

Kudos to the photographer... felt like I was there! That HVSS Sherman must have hit a rock to snap an axle.
Always great seeing new projects.

Great photos, it looks like you all had a great time. Now, I don't know if this will work for everyone, but all I did was click on the first photo and it automatically started a slide-show, changing photos every 10 seconds. I thought that was very cool, and it made for a most enjoyable way to view all the photos.
A question, the U.S. tank with the snorkel on the rear, is that an M-60? Maybe an M-48. I have to admit that I'm not that great at identifying tanks after WWII.
And that PIII with the fuel barrels on the back deck is just phenomenal. Whoever built it, they did a great job.

This broken drive shaft is the result of the T66 tracks. They are very hard on a sherman. They track fine going forward but if you back turn, they tend to ride off the sprocket because of the tooth holes in the links. Ive have expiremented alot to find the right tension but that doesnt matter. when they ride up from backing and turning in a battle it puts tension on teh drive shaft. This tank still had the original 1990s white gear trannys that had separate out shafts set screwed onto the short drive shaft. The driveshaft snapped off where the flat spot I filed in it for the set screw was. Time to upgrade to modern tamiya V3 trannys.
