Default 3W70 twin Engine with a Tillotson Carburetor S222B206

Hello members
I need assistance please
I have an old but in very good condition 3W-70 twin engine with a Tillotson carburetor # S222B206
It's been sitting for more than 10 years.
I installed in on a 33% Hangar 9 Sukhoi. It started easily but the carburetor is leaking fuel.
It leaks when I fill my tank and it leaks when the plane is just sitting on the flightline.
I was thinking of buying a gasket repair kit but can't seem to find it on line. Visited my local small engine shop but they aren't familiar with this carb
I would be happy to either find a Walbro replacement or a repair kit.
Is there anyone out there than can help me

Thanks in advance

Frank

RK-23HS is the carb kit part number that you're looking for . Check Ebay , Amazon , your local saw shop ,etc..
They run anywhere from $9.00 to $19.00 depending on availability. Be sure to get the gasket and diaghragm orientation correct or the metering needle side of the needle will be held off seat and fuel will leak out while sitting and it will be difficult to tune . The gasket goes against the carb body and the metering diaghragm goes on top of the gasket.

Default 3w70

Thank you very much
Would you happen to know an equivalent carburetor from Walbro?

Thanks in advance

A Walbro HDA 246A would be a good replacement for the Tillotson S222 carb.

Installing a Walbro onto this engine requires that the phenolic carb isolator be modified. New mounting holes will have to be drilled and you will need to route a slot to get the pump pulse lined up. Then the engine will run excessively rich in the mid range. You are better off fixing the Tillotson.

Hello again

I installed a carb kit RK-23-HS and the Tillotson carb is still leaking
Does anyone know what a direct Walbro carburetor replacement is that would not require any modifications?

Thanks in advance

The tillotson is leaking because the pop off pressure is too low. You need to increase the spring tension on the metering needle. I’ve done this mod and the engine ran like poop. The mid range was overly rich and it got worse when inverted. Your best bet is to sort out the Tillotson or get a replacement Tillotson.
