Default E-Flite Leader 480

Well, it has been perhaps eight (8) long years and finally got a chance to own and fly the E-Flite Leader 480.

I struck it super lucky as someone in Central Florida (Pick-Up Deal) had one for a cool $20.00 US cash (airframe only) but, it looks brand new!
https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...-airframe-only

Got is populated with a brand new E-Flite 480 (1020Kv) and a brand new E-Flite 30-AMP (V2) ESC.

Completed work consists of installing Rudder and Elevator servos (functionally working) and feeding in the aileron servos wires through the wings and of course installing the motor and ESC plus an AR400 DSMX receiver.

The installation of the E-Flite 30-AMP (V2) was tricky as I wanted it to ride below the battery tray and you really needed to have some patience to feed the motor wires in first carefully and at times the ESC twisted and working it with some spare push rods did the trick. This way I have just the battery up on top without any ESC wires in the way.

Used the Park Zone SV80 Long Lead Servos for the Ailerons.

You have to be extremely careful when you handle and most importantly install these servos in the wing!

Handle them by the main case and do not apply any pressure on the securing plastic tabs that are located at the ends of the case as these are very thin plastic and they will break OFF if you apply any pressure while trying to insert them in the wing!

Just a word of caution.................opcorn:

Maiden Flight Video of my E-Flite Leader 480! Enjoy!

Got a few batteries through my E-Flite Leader 480 super early this morning at my RC Club and let me tell you!

Finally got my Aluminum Spinner and boy, does it look terrific and it seemed to fly much faster this early morning at my RC Club!

This is an amazing model and it's completely STOCK, down to the Propeller (Stock Park Zone 9.5 X 7.5) and provides very good airspeed and thrust.

The E-Flite 480 (1020Kv) provides very good power and doesn't tax the batteries! A few pictures of post flight with the new Aluminum Spinner!

Guys,

Just to report as an UPDATE, this has been one of the nicest super light wing loading Sport Models in the market.

I have been flying the TAR out of mine!
