Yes, if it is of good quality (electric flight type) at least of 2000mAh. Smaller or standard NiMh batteries usually can't give enough amperage and the voltage drops.

I use NiMh on all my ECU. I'm using 2700mah pack. That give me 50min flight time with the Bee 50.
45min flight time with Jetcat P-120.
