I found this engine while helping a friend clean out his fathers stuff whom passed away a few months ago.
It looks like its in good shape and someone took the piston sleeves out of the motor to protect it I think.
Does anyone have any info Ross 60 twin? Is it worth running or more of a collectors motor

Whether it's the inline twin or apposed twin it's a collectors item, but they do run well. If it hasn't been run it has more collectors value. It is a 60 dispacement and has the power of a weaker sport 60.

This one is the opposed twin, in black with brass coloured hex screws and long exhaust pipes.
Its a fine looking engine and I think its been run maybe once by the look of it.
Its missing the prop screw and nut and that seems to be about it.

I knew Lou Ross and he made beautiful high quality engines that featured investment castings and run well. They are highly collectable and should not be run. I have a pristine copy of the Northfield-Ross 60 Twin brochure which spells out his design philosophy. It also includes the specs for the engine and RPM test numbers for various props available at the time. It has photos of all four versions of the flat two cylinder. It also includes a price list for the in-line twin and brochures and photos for the Ross Power Four and the Ross Power Six. All of these brochures are virtually perfect and would be a great addition to a Ross collection. If interested I would sell the set for $40. Send me an email or PM.

C185Pilot.
Thanks, but I have everything for the engine including all the manuals and the specs including the sales documentation, all of these goodies were kept in the same box and are in mint contition.
I guess I'll take some pictures of it and put it on the market.

I have two Ross twins and two Damo four stroke twins NIB.
I think they where made to run I I'm thinking on running my engines.
I have a BIG box full of new engines from my father and I will run them all just for fun.

Engines are made to run. Run it and enjoy it. Savor the sound and the smell. Then simply clean and oil it and put it back in a baggie.

Mine flew the Astro hog in a "scale like" manner if that makes sense. Actually, much like the Webra T4 80 that replaced it

FLy those old engines!
