Default Buy Another Stampede or Hoss Instead?

I have an 8 year old heavily upgraded Stampede 4x4 XL5 which has been converted to brushless. The electronics are old and something seems to break on it every other time I go out (last time the set screw on my pinion gear stripped). I am now typically running 2S but sometimes 3S. Half the time, it seems I have to re-pare the remote to the controller (older TQ controller). I am considering the following options:

1) Upgrade my current stampede further, possibly with newer electronics and drivetrain
2) Purchase a new Stampede VXL 4x4 and transfer my upgraded parts over (would already include new TQI / TSM system)
3) Purchase a Hoss which uses a lot of the same parts. I compared the parts diagrams and all of my upgrades will transfer to the Hoss. I understand the Hoss has a stronger drivetrain.
4) Purchase a Slash Ultimate or other model instead that also shares many of the same parts.

Thank you

well i don't like traxxas so my answer is buy an Arrma
but sense you already have a hopped up stampede 4x4, what i would do is take the truck apart. give it a thorough cleaning and inspection. replace what's worn out with a hop up. throw in a new radio and a cheap brushless motor and new esc and let it eat. you'll have something better than a new truck for less money than a new truck.

<!--td {border: 1px solid #cccccc;}br {mso-data-placement:same-cell;}-->From personal experience, I'd suggest going with the third option and picking the Hoss. My Hoss has taken quite a beating, and its strengthened drivetrain really holds up well. Plus, it's fun having something new to tinker with.
I found that the best deals for RCs and parts for them usually come from RC Hobby Explosion. I always use this site to get the best discounts and coupons for that store. RC is an investment, but a good deal can leave a few bucks for those unexpected upgrades.

I don't know what you have on it as far as upgrades, but I tend to stay away from aluminum in places that need to be able to flex like the arms or body posts.

Aluminum upgrades are not always better however they do look good. Get a Traxxas Summit
