Need Hot Fuel Proof paint
I fly glow fuel and crashed a big Ryan STA. I'm in the process of repairing the fiberglass cowl, and need to repaint it. Its Aluminum colored. Looking for a rattle can clearcoat and paint that is REALLY HOT FUEL PROOF.
Please help if you have found something that can take the punishment

If you are limited to something in a rattlecan there are "2K' epoxy clearcoats. They have a built in catalyst in the can so that once activated , the clock is ticking on the can but they should be fuel proof. It is $30 a can at Summit Racing. It should go on over Duplicolor silver but be sure to let it dry for a couple of days before clear coating. If you know anybody with a spray rig, 2 part automotive paint is the most reliable way to go.

In that case you are in luck. Find a local auto paint vendor. You can get catalyzed clear in quantities as small as a quart, A single stage silver is also an option and may be a better match for existing paint or covering. As long as the paint has an added hardener/catalyst it should be fuel resistant. Be sure to clean out your gun afterward because if it set up in the gun it will take forever, if ever, to get it clean.
