You all know you are coming to "Fokker field"........right? LOL!
Fokker Field - Schmokker Field ! Bring it on!

I visited Paul,Barry,Birdman and the gang at the Home of the Ohio Dawn Patrol over the 4th of July weekend. They had an impromptu "Camp and Fly" special 4th of July Edition.....WOW! What a party! Word to the wise: don't let them (Paul) park you near the center of the field and up close to the flight line. Some of those Salutes ended up EXTREMELY close to our pit position/camp site.
What a great weekend! oh, by the by, I re-maidened the 1/3 scale N-11. It seems that I had mis-remembered the balance point! Man, what a ride and only one lap around the field.......I never thought that it would get that far. After adding another 1 1/2 pounds it flew a lot better. It took 5 or 6 flights to finally get everything sorted out, lot of adjusting of throws and deflections and FYI if your elevators are not aligned the same it is virtually impossible to trim for straight and level flight.......it just wanted to roll no matter what I did.
It still needs a little more nose weight but is very flyable as is.
.......the Saga continues..........

Great that you got your N-11 flying again. I thought I would have the 1/3 SPAD ready for ODP but there's still too much to do on it. I think another guy will be bringing a 1/3 SPAD though to keep the French/Belgian group strong against all the Fokkers.

News for Nieuport 11 Fans!
A new start up company is offering a short kit based on the plans that were generated by this build thread.
Indianaairworks.com
Check them out......I hear that they can also cut a short kit for a half scale N-11.

THE END OF AN ERA:
I have officially retired my N-11 after 8 years. It flew it's last sortie during practice for the 2018 Scale Nationals. It seems that I tried to use the DR1 setting on my radio instead of the N-11 settings and the aileron setting was reversed. I now have my radio programmed when I turn it on it automatically goes to the "model Select" function and I have to actively select the model before the radio can transmit.
Since the ailerons were reversed, when I tried to counter the crosswind the plane went to knife edge - I couldn't figure it out in the short time available and the model sort of landed on the wing tips.
There will be no attempt to rebuild. I will salvage all the useable parts and they will go into the next N-11.
King Arthur signing off.

Well that is a bummer... However I am glad to say I have seen that plane in person, on the ground and in the air. It was very impressive...one of the first 1/3 scale WW1 planes I was around (ODP 2013? I think)
Its always good to have pictures and video to look back on.At least it was around for 8 years, I think of the poor big Zero I built that only lasted 8 flights ! hahahah
Take it easy Art... you have some room to build now
