Finished up a New XRT Slider that was purchased a few months ago. All new electronics (Hobbywing 5690 1250kv and Max5 ESC), 1/5 scale wheel & tire combo, Futaba sensors etc. 1st “Real Electric R/C”. Only Gas & Nitro with a few cheap electrics along the way since the 70’s. WOW. What a machine. 8S Lipo doesn’t disappoint. lol.

Default Help identify parts

Hi. I got these in a trade.
They were mixed into a pile of tmaxx parts I got. The bars were in a baggie and look brand new and unused. Hardware was included. The blue pieces are aluminum but I have no clue of what these things are

told myself i was going to make 35 new videos for my youtube channel this year. so far iv done an honest 2. almost 6 months into the year im a little behind schedule. so im currently doing some prepping and vehicle/equipment inspections. planning on doing a lot of running and filming next weekend. nothing crazy, just some very old school backyard shenanigan's. probably some Clodbuster, Wheely King, and Kyosho Stadium Baja, driving. maybe some 1/18 scale and Mini Z stuff. idk if ill break out the fast stuff as im limited on space and don't want to mess up my lawn. the OG Stealth box RC10 is a possibility... might also stop off and run electric TC's this next week, i pass a parking lot everyday that iv been meaning to try out.

drove the first hobby grade RC i ever bought, Kyosho Stadium Baja. also drove my Tamiya Super Clodbuster, HPI Wheely King, RC10 Worlds Car rerelase, RC10T, and HPI Savage XS SS.
and the only thing i managed to break was a drive pin on the Savage XS, which seems to be a common occurrence. i think this is the 6th one iv broken.

videos coming, eventually...

edit: and more coming, eventually...

lets see it has been ages so I cleaned a few up thinking of selling them. sold my savage flux already a little while back.

fixed a few others that were laying in parts for over 12 years.

went to see the condition of my lipos as I had the itch to run one, and saw the cells I stored at 3.8v's and checked every 1-2 years they were in storage were reading 5.3v's each >.> used them to center the steering on one I put a steering servo back in, but I definitely won't run them on that.

Now not selling all I am definitely keeping my 2 DF-02's, and my crawlers, and Jammin .5's,, my 1/8th scale electric converted jammin crt(doubt I'd get a fraction what I put into it), and prolly my stampede 4x4, but I might make it back into a slash 4x4(it originally was one I just bought a stampede chassis and drive shaft, and a few other parts). contemplated making the nitro jammin buggy I have electric, even made a motor mount, but changed my mind when I was trying to figure out how to put the batteries in it.

I've also thought about reassembling my old wheelyking after seeing the video above, but I'm not sure where I put its transmission(and pretty sure I butchered it up), and I would have to scrap my 6wd build to get its parts back, or scrap the other crawler I made of wheely king axles, and 3d printed parts.

yea that is my guess I've just not had time to look as something else came up. or when I connected the lipo the voltage toasted something.

radio also looks like a royal pain to dismantle so that too is part of the reason for the postponement if it was a simple 4 screws and its apart deal I'd have done it by now.

well checked my lipos again with a different multimeter, and they all read 3.72 - 3.82 volts per cell so they should be good still. They aren't swelling or anythings so might give them a try.

Reason I rechecked was I took the one radio apart that isn't working to see if there was anything obviously wrong with it, and I decided to do a basic continuity check to see if there was a break in the line, and its power died. I noticed it had a blinking battery notification on the screen, and grabbed my backup multimeter.
So anyways I was checking if there was voltage at the switch with my backup multimeter, and noticed the 3s lipo I had for my radios which I had hooked up which was reading 15v on the other multimeter was reading 11.2 volts so I checked all the cells, and was like hmm they were all reading around 3.8v with a drift of +/- 0.1v. Then I grabbed my ammo can of lipos and checked em all, and they all were similar I think one was 0.2v's difference between cells. Not bad for not being balanced storage charged in over 4-5 years.

Side note that radio... internally it was 3 caps, around 50-80 of the smallest surface mount resistors I've seen that there is no way to read the value of, and 3 IC's. As I have no schematic, nor idea what the pin outs of the chips are there is no way to diagnose it further. I was hoping it would be some simple issue like the power wire's solder joint broke off(I've had that in electronics), or a bad switch, but alas those were working right.
