Thanks Aiden The platform is literally the best float plane to be had in my opinion. The full abs manufacture makes all the waterlogging and covering issues mute that are so troublesome with balsa builds. The failure on my second one was related to the lack of correct prep (roughing of the mating parts before glue up) so definitely my error. I do feel like the wood spar failed on maiden which caused the wreck, I will improve that to car on or aluminum and try again. Probably with epioxy correctly applied this go round.
My try the 82 on it though. A faster up on plane at take off is really necessary for the wave action often days on my preferred lake happy place. Thanks again to you and the Barracuda Hockey for letting this dialog come to completion. Gary, I still need to buy fuel in your neck of the woods. You got any fly time mapped out for this week? The OS 300 wants it's old favorite mix back. It's coughing on this old stock I'm running here in Adrian.
Plus I have a few emptys for you....

I was determined to install a three blade Tru-Turn spinner on the OSMW 56 and Saito FA 40a, I had a .25" x 28 adapter but it was too long. The spinner was 3/16" short of reaching the backplate. I fired up the lathe and made the countersink in the prop nut 1/16" deeper, I mad.25" x 28 threads in the adapter nut bottom out. I tapped the m5 threads in the adapter nut all the way through and shortened both ends of the adapter nut by .125". I also used a slightly thinner washer. After I shortened the adapter I recut the taper as it was before.
