Default The “Not For Sale” design

Greetings all, I am looking for information on any larger size versions of the “Not For Sale” fun fly airplane. There was a gentleman on here back in 2015 that shared pictures of his with a DLE 20 on it (Lifer was his username). I know there are plans out there for the original 40 size version but I was really looking for a larger version actually hoping to find plans for the DLE 20 size one.
Any information would be appreciated!
Thanks
Lom

A club member has a .40 size Not For Sale and I was surprised how well it flew. It’s a unique design but not very complicated. Doing a scale up from an original set of plans should be fairly easy.

The original 20cc version was an experiment. It's still flying but I gave it to a friend 5 years ago. If you want to build one I'd suggest you get the plans from Model Airplane News and scale it up to a 72 or 80 inch wing. All sizes fly and land with a lot of stability and the large control surfaces make it acrobatic.

Best of luck. I've been building and flying this design since 1992 and highly recommend it..

Plans are on the way. I was just curious as to what percentage you may have used to get to that size.
Appreciate the reply though.

If the plans are for the 40-size NFS, I'd suggest an across the board increase of 128%.

I am about to start construction of the upscaled NotForSale with a 20cc gas engine. If anybody is interested, I can add photos and commentary as it progresses. Let me know.

Lomcevoc,

It doesn't seem to hold any interest here, so why don't you send me a PM and I can update you on the progress. Possibly I might start a new thread elsewhere on RCU.

I have been flying the 20cc version for about 6 months. Recently added a tuned exhaust system and the plane came alive. Really enjoying this plane!

If they made a 20 0r 25 size I built one of those years ago. If I remember correctly on the first flight the on off switch on the plane malfunctioned and the plane was totaled before I had a chance to enjoy it. It would be nice if you could post a photo or two of your 20cc plane.

Thank you for the video. Brings back memories. If I remember right these were an easy plane to build. Looks like yours flies very nicely.

With the home-made tuned exhaust system, it all came together nicely. Trim, balance and throws. Within a few seconds of the flight in the video, I knew it was exactly where I wanted it to be performance-wise.

Cvans; Build another one. You won't regret it.

Do you think a evolution 15cc would pull one the size you built or would 65" be better. I'm just getting back into RC after 20 years and would like something that slows down nicely for landing. I would think the thick wing section would do that.
And yes you have my interest. I'll have to see if I still have the plans here.
I'm looking for something that flies nicely at moderate speed. No bottle rockets for this old man.

Took the 20cc NFS out today and completed flights 55 thru 60. Switched from a c/f 17x6 to an APC 17x8N, which wildly out-performed the 17x6 and was eerily quiet. Literally couldn't hear it from 300 feet away. It's now doing straight up climbs and at about 80 mph in level flight. I've trimmed it to the point that it responds to what I'm thinking to do next. Still needs adjustments but done with it til next Spring.

No regrets scratch-building this plane. It's moving towards the best yet.
