How to make a bombay???
How do you make the bombay doors work with a servo, I can make a box, easy, but how do you make the doors open and close with the use of a servo??? What's an easy way???

How to make a bombay???
I had a caliper version that worked pretty well. Attach an arm to each door (I used control horns). Run a plastic sleeve control rod with the outer sleeve fastened (I lashed it with thread and then epoxied it) to one horn and the inner rod attached to the other horn with a clevis. The outer sleeve must only be attached to the one horn and near the activating servo. It has to be free to move as the doors swing. Activating the servo pulls the horns together, opening the doors.
Now for the bad news. This set-up needs enough room beside the doors for the rod to be positioned almost perpendicular to the horns. External "stores" are a lot easier and you will be less apt to think your doors are closed, when in fact a bit of the payload jammed (a load of Hotballs) so the doors didn't close but the servo was straining and your battery died . . .
Dropping candy at a fun-fly and then having your plane go spastic and auger in after the second sortie is a real crowd pleaser.

Kind of bombay?
If this is for candy drops, what kind of plane is it. I've built Sig Kadet Srs' with a bombay that opens but doesn't close. The servo only has to pull a pin at each end of the bombay. There is enough clearance with bombay doors, that are a hair over 1/2 the width of the fuselage--there is an overlap piece in the center--so that landings (either trike verson or tail dragger) are not a problem. I use Robart hatch hinges and the doors open fully.

Here is something to think about kneesaknock'n, the thing on the left is a 5 bay rotary system, 6 separate compartments but one of them is covered because one has got to be open at all times, so it creates the closed door. In the fifth compartment there is a tie down that a 50 foot orange plastic streamer can be connected. It is built in a module fashion so the camera on the right can be interchanged in the same plane. A big lazy bee so I have a wide under side.

The servo is connected to the gear channel (5) using the large round servo horns Futaba supplied, I made three cuts into two of these horns and heat and bent them in to a boat prop shape that would fit together. The horn on the servo end has an 1 1/2" nylon spacer protruding out and this is the axle on the drive end. The other horn is mounted to the rotation chambers. The servo is spring mounted so it can slide along its axle as the servo is "cocked". If you carry heavy things such as flower you will need a anti rotation brake. It has a couple of years use on it with more successful drops than failures dropping a variety of armament. I have two big bees, both have the removable belly door, makes the modules easy and convenient to use. My description is brief, hope you can absorb it. We do this for fun, right?

Bomb bay
I built a Unionville Otter (6' span) and I wanted to be able to drop parachute guys, bombs, candy, etc. It took a bit of figuring because the bottom of the fuse is rounded. Here is what I came up with: The doors are rounded too so I hinged them to the fuse with monocote (there are two doors that open like a clamshell). The doors are opened by push rods operated by nose gear steering horns. The music wire rod is held by the nose gear mount cut in half, each half supporting one end of the wire. I've attached a number of photos so hopefully they'll be self-explanitory.
Cheers!

How to make a bombay???
Do you mean the "bombay sling"?
You need 1 dash of angostura bitters, 1.5 oz. blue curacao, 1 fill of soda water, .5 oz. lemon juice, and a tsp. of sugar syrup.
Serve in a longdrink glass on the rocks and fill up with soda water.
Make a bombay sling for me too.

A 2-56 bolt is installed in the servo arm before the arm is put on the servo. The clevises are drilled out to slide over the 2-56 bolt, then a nut is screwed on hand tight followed by a piece of .049 fuel tubing for a locknut effect.

So, I guess what your saying is, "A philosopher is like a blind man".

Let's see. To a blind man, being in a dark room is mute, and the fact that the cat is black is also a mute point. In fact the cat itself is mute because it doesn't exist.

BTW, here is a recipe for Bombay Mix:
Ingredients
(2 servings)
2/3 c Thin pretzel sticks
3 tb Butter
1 Garlic clove, crushed
1/3 c Unblanched almonds
1/3 c Pine nuts
1/3 c Unsalted cashews
1 ts Worcestershire sauce
1 ts Curry powder
1/2 ts Hot chili powder
1/3 c Seedless raisins
1/4 ts Salt
Instructions
Break pretzels into 1" sticks. Melt butter in a skillet.
Add garlic in butter, then stir in almonds, pine nuts and cashews. Add Worcestershire sauce, curry powder and chili powder and mix well. Stir in pretzels and cook gently over medium heat 3-4 minutes, stirring frequently.
Remove from heat. Add raisins and salt; mix well. Turn mixture into a serving dish and cool. Makes about 2 cups.
