well, here it is so far...sandblasted and hand sanded to about 300 grit.I had it alot shinier with 1500 grit but then I could see imperfections in the metal so I sanded it back down hoping to take them out.

Blue Magic is an awsome all around polishing compound. I had a friend of mine useit on my MT engine and it took off all the Crap that was on it and made the engine look like new. And that was only about 30 mins worth of work. He got my exhaust header looking almost chromed with a dremel and Blue Magic.

I might have to go hunt some of that down,it sounds pretty good.I've got some Turtle Wax chrome polish and a Dremel and I'll see what that does when I sand it down a bit finer. That Dremel slings that stuff everywhere,haha.....I might do that outside

You need to use a metal polishing compound, not turtle way chrome polish... Go to your local hardware store and get some Tripoli compound, it's dry and doesn't fling all over the place... The turtle wax is just that, a wax... I do entire motorcycle's, but don't take my advice, unless you want to do it the easy way and have it look good and last...

Well i just polished my shock towers and stuff on my inferno but i had to remove the blue annodized stuff first so I got some ez off and sprayed them down and let them sit then whipped it off and repeated that until it was done. Then i went to my buffer and got the polishing compound and went to work. It will probably takea few hours to do this.

so let me get this right. you take any piece you want to polish and take off the anodize (lets say we are doing a pipe) and sand the pipe done till you get to 2000 grit paper, then you take your dremel and polishing stuff ( which i can buy at a hardware store right?) and polish it till i like it?

I used 300,700 and 1500 grit, and some Turtle Wax Chome polish and a Dremel with the cloth/felt wheel....funny,someone said that wouldn't work but it sure looks polished to me.Now I just gotta make the pipe match ..then buy a whole new already polished header and pipe, damn, shoulda thought about that first, lol. Its all in how it looks right?[8D]

The reason I used the chrome polish was because I'm broke right now and I already had it.I've polished acrylic to a glass shine with it so I figured it'd work for aluminum too.

I used a wire wheel to take off the paint on my pipe. It looks awsome already!
