Minwax & talc - a good mix?

Default Minwax & talc - a good mix?

i will be using the polycrylic technique for glassing wings (first time)

after the first coat (Minwax) application has dried can i mix the second coat with (baby) powder to fill in the weave?

any tips are welcome,[8D]

I suggest you just try it on a scrap of wood first and see what you think.

I've been playing with PC a little. I put two coats of PC on, sanding between coats. Then, I cover with silkspan using PC. Another coat of PC then a coat of PC with corn starch. Sand and you have a good base for primer and paint.

Baby powder works. I usually mix some in after the first couple of coats. Can't say how much because I just eyeball it.

THANX guys, i will try the baby powder first (have some in the bathroom) as for the starch i will try next time to compare

[sm=spinnyeyes.gif] think of it, would baking soda (arm&hammer) be good as well? have plenty of that around the house!
