JR Gold Cup - Bowie, MD - 5-18/19
Saturday started off raining, cold, and gusty, and stayed cold and gusty all day. Sunday was still somewhat gusty, but sunny and shorts or short sleeves for many.
Randy Bridge was the winner and had the fast time with a 1:00:xx where xx was 36, I seem to remember.
Lyle Larson and Travis Flynn had a fly-off for 2nd with Lyle taking second.
There was a lot of carnage ... including one spectacular collision between a landing plane and one that was stopped on the runway.
After hours entertainment included touch and goes off the PGRC shelter with Park Flyers.
I met a lot of people in person for the first time, and really enjoyed meeting and talking to Ed Smith, Randy Bridge, Travis Flynn and Stu McAfee, as well as a lot of other people, including Darrol Cady.
