If the gas engines can be run with or without the mufflers, how do they draw fuel? Maybe I am just used to glow and pressurizing the tank a bit via the exhaust. I'm sure they'd draw enough fuel sitting upright, but I am wondering about when the plane is vertical or during spinning/flipping manuevers.

I am considering putting a G26 on the new Cermark Pitts.

I believe you'll find that all gasoline engines (and certainly all that I've ever seen) are equipped with fuel pumps. It's part of the carb.

Gas engines generally use carbs with built in fuel pumps such as Walbro, Tillotson or Bing carbs. One side of the carb pumps fuel and the other meters fuel to the engine.

The majority of carburetors used on gas engines have a diaphragm pump hooked up to the crakcase of the engine, using the changing crankcase pressure to move the diaphragm and thereby pumping gas.

Looks like I'll be getting into gas engines as well. Should be cheaper.

This also allows you to place the fuel tank in the best position to suit the installation, such as directly on the CG. They can pump fuel quite a distance.
