Default BME 44 and 50 carb mounting

Howdy, after looking at photos the carb mounting on the 44 is confusing does the aluminum ring use a set screw to attach the carb to the exhaust port? Where does the pulse for the diaphram come from? The 50 looks like it has threaded holes to mount the heat dam the conventional way. Could someone clear this up for me I like the idea of two bolts instead of set screws. Thanks a bunch!

Default Carb mounting

the carb always attaches to the engine with 2 bolts..If there are set screws they only serve to help hold the ring to the cylinder..The pulse will come through the mounting plant or through a new fitting on the case to the back of the carb....
