Low speed tuning
Before i get started i have searched for this topic and cant find it.
I got an evader bx today, and im trying to tune it well. I have the high speed needle set right but not sure if I need to be messing with the low speed. When I give it gas from an idle it bogs down a little and then revs up fast. DO i need to adjust low speed needle or is that still a high speed needle problem? Thanks for any help, its appreciated.

RE: Low speed tuning
there are two methods to use in conjunction with one another in order to set the low speed needle perfectly. First - to get it in the general area, pinch the fuel line closed about 2-4 inches from the carb. If it takes more than 4 or 5 seconds to stall, it is set too rich. If it stalls almost immediatly, it is too lean. Adjust accordingly 1/16th of a turn until it stalls after about 2-4 seconds. Once this is done, drive the car around abit, then come to a complete stop. Keep the brakes applied fully and count to 10. Then apply wide open throttle. If it bogs down before clearing its thoat, its too rich. If it coughs, or hesititates, then it is too lean. Adjust accordingly in only 1/32 incriments - or nor more than 1 hour on a clock. This should get u going.

RE: Low speed tuning
I have a side question about low speed tuning... The manual of my mach .15 engine states the low-speed needle turning should be done with the carb fully closed.. Would this mean backing out the idle screw any time you wanted to adjust the low speed needle in order to get the carb fully closed ?? I picked up a truck used, and want to set needles back to the recommended break in settings since i do not know what they are set at now, but this note about the low speed setting has me a little confused..
