Yes they are very concervative with the CG. I have my 330 CG at 6 3/4 . I have seen some say they have it as far back as 7 1/2.
The farther back you go the more sensative the elevator gets so you will have to cut down the low rate throw so it still landable.

Wow, I flew at 6 inches and had a nearly uncontrollable airplane. I got screwed up on the elevator throw though. I set the recommended travel at the counter balance instead of the trailing edge. All is well now, but it still seems pitch sensitive.
Could someone post both their c.g. and elevator travel.

6 3/4 cg
5/8 low rate 70% expo
1 1/2 med rate 70% expo
3 1/2 3D rate 90% expo
use the low rate to land with
Need lots expo to make plane controlable

OK, I just checked mine.
c.g. 5-3/4
low rates 7/8, 40% expo
high rates 1-1/4, 40% expo
My first flight was c.g. 6-1/4, elevator throw 1-1/8, 25% expo.
This is measured at the elevator trailing edge at the widest chord (right next to the rudder). Should I tune down my low rates even more?

I thought that 53/4"-6" was conservative! Sure does solve a few problems. Had it set at 57/8".
I'll move it back to 61/4" first and move back slowly from there. Thanks

I went to great pains to get 5-3/4 with my OS 160. I don't have a pilot or instrument panel yet. That will cause the c.g. to move back a little. I think I finally know why I almost crashed this thing the first time out. Amateur mistake considering I have 20 years RC experience. What about expo. Do I really need it as high as 70%? I flew my Sukhoi all last season with 0%.
Thanks for the info Randy.
