ChixwithTrix, There is another thread under Tips and Tricks show us your trailer[/URL] that gives good ideas of what you might want. As far as a newly purchased trailer say for instance a 5' X 8' trailer you would be looking in the ball park of around $1500 +.

I am working on a set of plans that I will be posting on a web site that will help those interested in building.

There is another set of plans that helped guide me through my build only I built mine a little larger. The set of plans that helped guide me through my build is located here. Alan's plans

I will be writing mine up very soon and will be posting them here.

Default SOME MORE

The frame comes from Northern Tool Co. for about $159.00 American. 3/4x4x8 treated ply on the bottom and 1/2x2x8 for the sides, 1/2x2x4 ends. I made formers on the lid and sheeted it with 1/4 Lauan ply. It will hold 2 25% size airplanes and gear.

I've been toying with the idea of modifying a boat trailer. These should be plentiful and easy to modify. The type for hauling a flat bottom jon boat should work perfectly. I have a suburban which will easily haul my trainer and 35% plane but I am in the process of building a 50% scale CAP. Basically I think I'm going to build a box and bolt it to the trailer. The assembled plane only weighs 65 lbs so a light weight trailer should work fine. I'll carry the fuse in the box and put the stabs and wing in the rear of the truck. I can't see spending 3-4K or more on a fully enclosed trailer.

Hi,
Home Depot, Lowes, do sell little trailers for less than $300.00.
You'll have to put it together, and get it titled, but from there, you can build what you want. You'll be getting something new, and as custom as you can afford.

Good Luck

Yo, as they say here near Philly,
Your set up looks great, but you'd better weigh it, because it's made of pressure treated wood, and that stuff is heavy. Also check out the balance, after a couple of years with campers, a wet road and a small bump, @$#&^%*<&^%, it's all over.

Take Care

Default WEIGHT

Weights about 450lbs loaded and has about 45lb tongue weight

Trailers just fine in wet and dry. I do have to make sure everything is held down securely or it will bounce around inside.
It has made many trips to various fields so far this year with no hitches(pun).
