Default My summer restoration project, 78 Lotus Esprit.

The problem is the summer I am referring to is probably around 2006. Got this project car off my uncle ~10 years ago, with so many ++ horsepower changes that it doesn't come anywhere near passing our emissions tests. I need to finish the restoration and swap the Webers for a cheap aftermarket EFI unit. Just way too busy with Jets n' stuff though...

For every hour I spent driving it, it needed 3 hours of fixing. typical old British car with Lucas electronics...

Aahh, Lucas... Acronym for "Black Death"

Same here as dribbe, a bright red 944 resides in the driveway while the planes take up the garage space. Nothing like having your priorities in place. Sure wish I had my signal orange 914-6 back though.

My dream car is a Lamborghini Countach, but the closest I'll probably ever come is the time that I was able to drive one after doing some service work on it. Year's ago I also had the opportunity to drive a 308 Dino after putting timing chains in it, "Sweet".

Default Cool Cars & Planes

Marty,
Mine is a 308 GTSi, identical to the one that was on Magnum PI. Guess I was influenced by that show years ago.

Vincent,
Excellent choice. I hope you're happy with your new T-bird. I'm on the team at Ford Motor Co. that designed and developed that car.

Mec,
A Ferrari isn't too practical for trips to the airfield. I'd like to know how you get that plane in the car.

I often thought of doing a model jet up in Ferrari logos, just never got around to it.

Default T-BIRD

I can`t fit any of my jets in it but other wise you guys did a great job with this "new" classic. Not the fastest car on the road (I think my wifes Volvo S-80 T-6 can take it) but it is a real head turner and way cool to drive, nothing else like it out there. I had to pull some strings to get it as the whole year was sold out. One complaint, should be rear wheel drive.

Default Rear Wheel Drive T-bird

<One complaint, should be rear wheel drive.>

Vin,
I hate to be the one to break this to you, but the T-bird is rear wheel drive. Maybe that was a typo, or the salesman was full of sh*t. If there's any doubt in your mind check to see which wheels spin next time you tropm on it.

Enjoy,
Joe
