New Pilots
I just purchased several of these new pilots. These are the best molded pilots I have ever seen, very sharp detail. This site also has a great tutorial on how to paint pilot figures. I spoke with a rep. from the distributor who advised that they should have all sizes available very soon and are coming out with many more designs to include full bodied pilots.

RE: New Pilots
I have not seen a picture of the civilian pilot but I am very impressed with the detail in the ones I have. I purchased 2 of the 1/4 scale WW2 pilots and I think instead of putting them in an airplane after I detail them, I will put them in a glass dome and display them on my desk at work. I'll get a couple more for my airplane.
For those of you who are non-modeler, ARF only guys, I just found out that Balsa USA is selling them already painted.

The MAP Intro. prices are: 1/4= $27, 1/5=$25, 1/5+1/7 = $19,+ FREE SHIPPING! Prices will increase slightly after the Toledo show, all Aces of Iron pilots are available thru www.perfectpilots.com or your local hobby shop.
Thanks for the great comments.

RE: New Pilots
I checked out Balsa USA and they are all 1/4 scale busts and smaller made by Pilots of Iron. I really wish they would come up with a line if 1/3 scale full body pilots. The detail is great.
I bought 1/3 scale full body pilot for my Super Decathlon made by Officer and Gentleman but it is very heavy. I've also looked at Pilots by Diane and they are a bit pricy and not very realistic looking. Nice clothing though. There is a German site that sells pilots but since I don't read German I can't tell much about their products.
Guess I'll keep looking.

RE: New Pilots
Another option for full body 1/3 scale pilots is a series of action figures called "Men of Honor". They sold for about $80 in Toys R Us but were not good sellers and have been off the shelves there for about a year. They are figures look like GI Joes but 1/3 scale (24" Tall), fully poseable (even the fingers bend) and have good detail. There was a sailor, a wake island style marine (perfect for average civilan pilot) and a dress blue marine. These figures are hard to find but appear on Ebay every once in a while.
