Default ?? Futaba seems to have the only AM module ??

Futaba seems to have the only AM module. This module only works with one controller. Is this true?

I know Futaba has an AM Conversion Module for the T3PK (because I own one) and I believe there is also an AM Conversion Module for the M8.

No, the M8 is Airtronics. By the way when you view some of the latest hype regarding the M8, the T3PK has a lot of the same features if not more including the synthesized module the website so proudly displays--Futaba's module is just simply Futaba. The T3PK also has an HRS mode or accelerated FM which is Futaba only, but that wouldn't apply to AM anyway.
