Default Canopy blocks lift???

Yes... well at least that's what happenned to me. Anyway, does everybody else have the same analysis? You see, even with full charged batteries, there is a big difference in lift when putting the canopy on than off.

Is it just me? Is it that the main motor doesn't have enough power? It flies, yes, but with much more needed power than not having the canopy on. At first i thought it was because of the weight but whoa,... the canopy is almost weightless...

Any opinions?

Oh ya.. one other thing. What do you need to make my dragonfly go direct drive? Can it have direct drive? I'm tempted to this idea cause my 2nd tail motor just burnt again in less than one month.
Thanks.

Default RE: Canopy blocks lift???

If that's the case, flying with canopy will certainly decrease efficiency thus shorter flight time......
flying without will get your heli in the air longer?
But why? Is it the design of the canopy which blocks the push of the air from the main blades? Or does it have something to do with the weight? If it's the design, then someone's gotta already have a canopy with good aerodynamics?
