Default Brison 2.4 Muffler

I am looking for suggestions for a muffler for my Brison 2.4. The Bisson pitts syle will not fit on my Super Cub. I know about the inverted side mount muffler from Bisson. However, before I order that oneI was wondering if there was another choice? It appears that that the side mount will require a lot of hacking on the cowl...

TIA for your help!

Brison offers an exhaust diverter that is loud but does divert the exhaust to the outside.

I had to use the exhaust diverter on my H9 Super Cub. It does not stick out of the cowl much at all. It is a bit lould.

In a work--"Spectacular"-- I would use mild power for scale flight with a 20/6 Zinger standard prop. Then if you want to wind it up (I also had smoke) it makes a super "slow motion fun flyer"

Thanks AJF, I'm thinking about using the same engine in the super cub or the taylor craft. Bummer about the TC is it has a one piece wing.

Hi have a 2.4 and I can attest to the fact that the supplied muffler is not a muffler by any means and should be called a deverter. I love my 2.4 it has been a great engine for sure. Has anyone put a pipe on one of these? I am hoping to do so for an up and coming project. Does any one now if the parts and pieces that you can buy at Desert Aircraft will mate up the exhaust port of the Brison 2.4?????? Sorry GalenB for detracting from your original quest for quietness, but I am on the same quest, however I would like to put a pipe on mine.

I have a 3.2 and if I can get a header pipe for it, I want to mount a can on mine.

Hi Kurt,

No worries...

Does anyone know if the 2.4 and 3.2 have the same muffler mounting? I think I have one of the Brison diverters that came with my 3.2... It's an awfully small muffler with two exit pipes...

OK, looks like DA is getting a call tomorrow if I can scrap up the time, I will find out what the width of the mounting holes are for the header pipe, and then I will post it.

Hi All,

I just got through to DA and it turns out that they have a bunch of different size headers made by KS "we have a bunch of wacky sizes," they said. Can one or a couple of you guys (Geistware?) measure the hole pattern and port size to the Brison 2.4 and 3.2.. I don't have access to my engine right now and won't until this evening. If I can get this information relatively early I will call them back today and get that information for all.

I really don't have a way to measure my engine, but here are pictures of the 2.4 and 3.2
