Default Woohoo My Dragonfly arrived!

I was so excited for it to arrive, it was a bit of an anticlimax when it did lol

I don't have much time atm to setup and fly my dragonfly, but I managed to have a quick look over her last night and have just a few questions..

Firstly, the cell packs. I have been supplied two of the 8.4v nimh standard packs and a wall charger. how long will a full charge take? there are no destructions in the manual

Also regarding the gws pg03 gyro, there are two dials on it. one for gain, and one for setup. I have an idea of what the gain is for but what of the setup?

Regards
Crash

Hi crashparry

The setup is like adjusting amount of the voltage changes in the motor... Think of it in this way,

O = O/P
I = I/P
G = Gain
S = Setup
Y = Gyro Change (Either 0, -ve or +ve..depend on what stage your chopper tail position)

So,
O = (I + (Y * G)) * S

Super Hornet,

Stop scaring the lad!

Just set the settings pot until both leds in the gyro are illuminated whilst the tail is static.

The gyro, w/ your DF on a level surface and not moving adjust the set up pot until both led's light up. the green and red will light to look kinda orange.
The batteries will be fully charged after like 2.5 hours. As a rule of thumb w/ nimh batts, charge until pretty warm to the touch and no more. Do NOT let them get hot when charging.

It's ok Steve mate, I program computers to fund my exploits (unfortunatley) and O = (I + (Y * G)) * S makes more sense to me than keep it level and adjust until the light comes on. But it does save a lot of brainache ] lol

Thanks for the info about the cells too chaps.

actually what works for me with the wall charge time is,

(battery mA rating) / (charger mA current) = number of hours to charge.

so in my case,

750mA 8.4 volt packs
500mA wall charger at 9 volts

my charge time would be 750mA / 500mA = 1.5 hours charge time

hihihi..... superhornet... man.. you're even scaring me...
careful on your first hover... try to get the feeling of the transmitter and adjust your trim to get neutral position... make sure the swashplate is level...

Oh ya... if you are about to crash... turn down your throttle quickly...
Good luck!

Hi James56

If your tail motor is stock, that could mean your tail motor is reaching old age.
