Slow flyer Landing gear modification
Since I do lots of take offs and landings on rough surfaces like vacant lots and grassy areas I have come up with a pretty good light weight method of bolstering the landing gears on my planes.
I used twist on insulation to position the loop ends of the landing gear struts and hold them in place. I can just twist the insulation to move the ends up or down on the gear.
The strut is held to the fuselage by means of a dowel and rubber bands.
